Dan Morrow | Chief Executive OfficerDan Morrow arrived as our new Trust Leader and CEO in January 2021, having previously been the Trust Leader and CEO for Woodland Academy Trust. Dan moved into education motivated by a desire to give back. His appointments to date have enabled him to make a difference in a huge variety of schooling and civic contexts. He is extremely excited about the challenges and opportunities which working across Dartmoor will bring. Following his own experience of being a free school meals pupil and the first in his family to go to university, gaining a place at Oxford University reading History, Dan is a strong believer in breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for pupils to fulfill their ambitions and achieve their potential. Equally, he is dedicated to delivering a positive and sustained impact for the local communities we serve.

Hazel Fox | Vice Chief Executive OfficerHazel Fox was appointed Vice CEO in January 2018. Hazel has 12 years experience of being Head Teacher of both large and small primary schools in both Devon and Birmingham. Hazel has worked for the Local Authority as a School Improvement Partner and supported a number of schools over the years on their journeys to rapid improvement. Hazel is a Local Leader of Education and continues to support schools through this role.

Susanne Kiff | Chief Finance and Operations OfficerAs a finance professional Susanne has over 20 years’ experience. She was previously Federation Business Manager for a group of schools that have now formed part of the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust. Susanne is an AAT accountant (MAAT) and has completed the DSBM School Business Leaders qualification.

Melissa Trudgill | Company Secretary and Executive Liaison FacilitatorMelissa was appointed into a new role as Governance Manager in September 2019 after many years working in school governance across Devon. Before this her experience includes roles in education, events management, lottery case officer, town centre management and enabling voluntary groups to access grants and contribute to planning decisions.
Her new role and job title as Company Secretary and Executive Liaison Facilitator is still primarily a governance management role, providing strategic oversight for governance throughout the Trust. She enjoys working closely with trustees, officers, governors and the academy committee clerks. |
Nuala McDermott | Executive Officer and DPOAs Executive Officer and DPO (Data Protection Officer), Nuala supports Dan as CEO and Trust Leader. Nuala has been appointed to this exciting new brief which includes the strategic leadership of projects and initiatives, business administration leadership and incorporates the role of nominated Data Protection Officer. As Exec Officer, Nuala's focus is on realising synergy; finding the excellence that exists all across our family of schools and working with the Executive, Schools and wider stakeholders to support Dan in leading forward with a plan based on truly ensuring we are the difference for our children and communities.

Neil Swait | School Improvement LeadNeil Swait is a School Improvement Lead for the Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust. Neil is an experienced teacher, who has taught in the early years, key stage 1 and key stage 2. He has extensive senior leadership experience in schools including headship. His qualifications include the National Professional Qualification for Headship; a Master of Education (leadership & management); and the Professional Qualification for School Inspector. Neil also carries out school consultancy and leads inspection work across the South West. In addition to this, Neil is also an Associate Lecturer for Plymouth University, with a specific focus on supporting trainee teachers during their school-based training.

Jane Lake | Director of SafeguardingJane started work as the Director of Safeguarding at the beginning of the summer term 2018 having previously been the Education Safeguarding Officer for Babcock LDP working with Devon County Council. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and Jane's role is to ensure that we are all effectively safeguarding our children and our staff to the best of our ability.

Ed Finch | Trust ChampionEd Finch has twenty years' experience as a teacher working in the UK and overseas. He has joined Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust as Trust Champion with a special interest in building the strength of networks between schools and teams right across the trust and to join up best practice in teaching and learning.

Rebecca Mullins | Trust ChampionRebecca spent the first years of her career in North West London working in schools facing challenging circumstances. She successfully led two History departments before relocating to Devon. She has held senior positions since 2007, leading Teaching and Learning and professional development to raise standards of provision both in primary and secondary settings. More recently Rebecca extended her interests to HR focused areas of school leadership. This is her current focus at Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust where she will be focused on the development of our People Strategy.

Jules Ruddick| SEND and Inclusion Strategic LeadTo build further on the existing importance and value that Dartmoor MAT places on SEND and Inclusion, we have recruited Jules to champion Trust-wide continuous improvement so that pupils and families consistently receive the very best service possible in all our schools. He brings to his broad-ranging and extensive skill set from a successful career within both the care and education sectors. Within the latter, he has over a decade’s worth of innovative senior leadership experience, up to and including that of headteacher. Throughout his senior leadership career, he has led on delivering successful and impactful SEND provision in several areas of the country, from creating highly effective, pioneering start-ups to helping drive standards and performance of existing services.

Keith Webber| Trust Energy and Utilities ManagerKeith is involved with improving water and energy efficiency at our sites. This includes identifying waste and advising how to deal with it, ensuring that building control systems work correctly and are understood by schools. Keith also looks at the options for more efficient equipment, better control systems and renewable energy installations along with potential funding sources for these measures. Keith's mantra is ‘if you measure it you can manage it’ and many of our schools now have online metering for water, gas and electricity to help the Trust manage these costs and improve sustainability.
