Primary Resources for Wellbeing and Self Help
As we welcome children back to school we know there's a lot of big feelings and emotions going on. While many children will be happy and excited about going back to school and very ready for the next challenge, there will be some who are feeling anxious or who are worried about having fallen behind or having 'gaps' in their learning. The first thing to do is to talk to the child's class teacher who will want to reassure them and help put their minds at rest. They might suggest something that will help calm the child's nerves and might suggest an activity they can do to help with their learning.
In general, we would expect that those nerves related to returning to school should dissipate quite quickly once the child is back in the routine of the school day. If they do not, please do keep in touch with the class teacher - via the school office where that is the school's policy - and with school leaders, they will want to help.
In addition to the help the class teacher would offer here are some useful web links to help with managing mental health and wellbeing and help with home studies.

Subscriptions
Most schools have subscriptions to apps such as Times Tables Rockstars, Numbot, Bug Club, Mathletics and similar. Don't forget to use those to keep up regular practice of basic maths and reading skills. A little every day will always be more effective than a big session once or twice a week. If you've lost track of these subscriptions or forgotten passwords the schools will be very happy to help.
