School Direct gave me all the tools I needed to start my teaching career, being hands on from the start helped me to gain practical experience and increase my confidence during the year. I would highly recommend this path of learning, especially at Tavistock College, where I was supported from the start to full employment.

The whole experience of the School Direct year was fantastic. I had all the support and specialist training required to facilitate my progress. It gave me the true school life experience and set me up well for my NQT year.

From the moment the training began, I was totally immersed in the innumerable nuances of school life. For me, this was undoubtedly the best way to capture a true understanding of education in its widest sense and prepare me for my teaching journey. Training in an educational setting allowed me to observe pedagogical practices first-hand and draw on the expertise of experienced practitioners. This, together with their valuable support and guidance, helped me develop my own professional practice quickly and confidently.
